What We Do


GSML has access to three sugarcane producing districts viz. Lakhimpur-Kheri, Sitapur, and Bahraich for sugarcane procurement, which sums up to a total of 40,000 hectares of sugarcane cultivable area. More than 70,000 farmers are involved in sugar cane farming in the designated area, while the yield of sugarcane per hectare is 700-750 quintals. The factory is producing 1000 TPD of Sugar out of which 500 TPD is Double Sulphitation plantation white sugar.

Sulphur free Sugar

GSML started manufacturing Sulphur free/refined sugar from 2016. The plant has the capacity to produce 500 TPD of Double Refined Pharmaceutical and food-grade white sugar.

Sugar by-products: Molasses & Bagasse

Apart from selling the finished product, GSML is also involved in production and sale of numerous by products of Sugar. GSML is selling molasses, which is the dark, sweet, syrupy by-product made during the extraction of sugars from sugarcane and sugar beets. The plant produces 500 tonnes of molasses every day.

Bagasse is the fibrous dry pulpy residue left after the extraction of juice from sugarcane. It is used as a biofuel and in the production of construction materials. It is a source to generate green electricity, dry bagasse is burnt to produce steam which is used to rotate turbines to produce power. The ashes produced from burnt bagasse is also used as organic manure. GSML produces 3,000 tonnes of bagasse every day.

Power Cogeneration

GSML runs on self-generated electricity from the green power plant which uses the organic waste of sugarcane as fuel. The co-generation plant is also selling 22 Mega Watts of power every day to the state of Uttar Pradesh with minimal carbon footprint as compared to conventional sources of power generation.

Distillery Plant

Gobind Sugar Mills Limited is one of the oldest yet most modern sugar mills of India. Until last year, it was a sugar and power unit. In order to exploit the value of its byproduct called molasses. The Company embarked on setting up a 100 KLPD Ethanol Distillery Plant. The project is complete and with effect from December 1st, 2019 the commercial production has started. The plant is capable of producing Ethanol from C-Molasses, B-Heavy Molasses as well as sugarcane juice directly. The Distillery Plant has a captive 4MW Cogeneration unit, which uses the waste product fermentation (called slop) as a fuel, in the specially designed incineration boiler, thereby achieving Zero-Liquid Discharge status.
